Frequently asked questions

How does the free trial work?
The Starter plan starts with a 14-day free trial for new customers, with the full plan from day one. You enter a card at checkout, but nothing is charged until the 14 days are up. Cancel before then from your dashboard's billing portal and you pay nothing; otherwise the plan simply continues. The other plans are billed from the day you subscribe.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your dashboard's billing portal — no lock-in contract, no calling anyone.
What does "pages per site, per scan" mean?
When we crawl one of your monitored sites, we visit up to that many pages of that one site in a single scan. It's a limit per site, not a total shared across your account: on Agency, every monitored site can get its own crawl of up to 1,000 pages. Per plan: Mini 10, Starter 50, Growth 250, Agency 1,000 pages per site. The crawl starts at the homepage and follows links outward, so if a site has more pages than the limit, the pages closest to the homepage are the ones checked.
Do the prices include VAT?
No — prices are shown before VAT. VAT, where it applies, is calculated at checkout from your billing address and, for businesses, the VAT number you can enter there. You'll see the exact total before you pay.
Is a clean scan legal proof of EAA compliance?
No. EqualVia is a technical WCAG conformance testing tool — it tells you exactly where your code fails specific WCAG success criteria. It isn't legal advice, and passing a scan doesn't by itself certify legal compliance with the EAA. For that, talk to a lawyer.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export everything — sites, scans, every violation found — as JSON anytime from your account settings, whether or not you're still subscribed.
How is this different from an accessibility overlay widget?
Overlay widgets patch symptoms in the browser at runtime and don't touch your actual markup. EqualVia runs axe-core (the same engine behind Google Lighthouse) against your real code and tells you exactly what to change.
Do you only run axe-core's automated checks?
No. On every page we also run our own checks for what axe-core alone can't — the contrast of text over gradient and image backgrounds, whether the declared page language matches the text, reflow at 320px, visible keyboard focus and text spacing. Automated tools still can't judge everything (like whether alt text is genuinely meaningful), so a clean scan is a strong signal, not a guarantee — see exactly what we test.
